Jerry Capps
Manager, Licensed Funeral Director, Licensed Pre-need Sales Agent
Jerry Capps plays a big part in the history of Alexander Funeral Home, working as a Funeral Director here for 42 years. He has a great passion for the people that come through the doors of our facility. People know Jerry and how he puts every effort into satisfying the families he serves. Jerry is a member of the Masonic Lodge #543 F&AM, Lafayette Lions Club, VFW, and American Legion. He is a Vietnam Veteran and a member of the Lafayette Missionary Baptist Church. Jerry and his wife, Linda, have a daughter and two granddaughters. Jerry enjoys spoiling and keeping his granddaughters as much as possible. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing and working in his yard.

Brad Tuttle
Owner, Licensed Funeral Director, Licensed Pre-need Sales Agent
Brad was born and raised on the west side of Macon County, in the Rocky Mound Community. He is a 1996 Graduate of Macon County High School, and a 2000 graduate of Western Kentucky University with a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture and an emphasis in education. He taught in our local high school for two years, and prior to the purchase of the funeral home, he served as the Branch Manager of Green Bank in Lafayette for 5 years. He is married to Andrea Hauskins Tuttle. He and his wife, along with Guthrie and Mary Hammer purchased the historic funeral home in June of 2008. Brad and Andrea have two children, Colton and Chloe, and they currently reside in the Keystone Community of Macon County. He has farm blood running through his veins and spends his spare time working on his farm. Brad has recently graduated from John A. Gupton College and passed the National Board of Funeral Directors Exam, as well as getting his licenses as a Pre-need Agent. He is a past president of the Macon County Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of Leadership Macon, and has served on various committees for the Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of the Long Creek Missionary Baptist Church.

Guthrie Hammer
Owner
Guthrie is a native of Macon County, born and raised in the Pumpkintown Community. He is a graduate of Red Boiling Springs High School.
Guthrie married Mary Blankenship in 1958 and they have shared Fifty-two wonderful years together. They have a son and two grandsons. He loves spending time with his grandsons, fishing. Guthrie worked for Highland Appliances for several years. He is known for his farming and Dozier work. Guthrie has turned out many rolls of hay for the farmers in this area. He also has worked many hours on a Dozier that he and Rex Archer owned. Guthrie has recently retired from the farming business.
He now enjoys helping serve the families that come to Alexander Funeral Home and appreciates their trust.

Mary Hammer
Owner
Mary is a native of Macon County born to the late Carlos and Opalle Blankenship. She was raised in the Galen Community where she and her husband Guthrie still reside. Mrs. Mary wed Mr. Gurthrie Hammer in 1958 and they have had a wonderful marriage. She and Guthrie have one son Barry, as well as, two grandsons. Mary graduated from the Kimmerhoggs School of Beauty in 1960 and started her own beauty shop in Lafayette in 1961, where she worked very hard as a Hair Dresser until retiring in 1994. Along with her business partners, she purchased Knollwood Manor in Lafayette, in 1993, and later helped build the White House Assisted Living. Besides being a part owner, she also served as the facility's Certified Dietary Manager. Mary has a strong love for people and serving people. She and Guthrie along with Brad and Andrea Tuttle became business partners, and in June of 2008 purchased the Alexander Funeral Home. Mary enjoys shopping and likes antiques. She has a very sweet personality and loves to laugh and enjoy life. She is a strong entrepreneur and has a deep passion for business.
Mary is a devoted member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church and loves to serve her Church and her Lord by any means possible. Mary would like to personally thank the Lord for blessing her life and would also like to thank the people of Macon Coutny for placing their confidence in her and the patronage they show to the Alexander Funeral Home.

Jason Ligon
Licensed Embalmer, Licensed Funeral Director
Jason began working for the Alexander Funeral Home in February of 2009. He is a native of Lebanon, TN, where his ancestors operated the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home. Jason has a strong passion for the funeral business and takes great pride in his skill for the art of Embalming and Restorative Arts. He graduated from Lebanon High School in 2004 and immediately went to work in the funeral business in Hartsville, TN. He graduated from John A. Gupton College of Mortuary Science in Nashville in 2006 receiving an Associates of Arts degree in Funeral Service. He passed the National Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers exam as well as the Tennessee laws, Rules, and Regulations Exam in Funeral Service and recieved his Funeral Directors and Embalmers License in 2009. Jason now resides in the Cold Springs Community of Macon County and is married to the former Amie Shaw of Lafayette. Amie is the daughter of Clydette and the late Jimmy Shaw of Lafayette. Jason enjoyes singing gospel music with the Inspired Quartet, fishing, camping, and spending time with family and friends. He and his wife are members of the Enon Missionary Baptist Church. He is also a member of the Comer Lodge #417 F&AM in Watertown, and a member of the Professional Car Society. Jason has plans to serve the families of Macon and surrrounding counties for as long as he is able, and would like to thank those people who have placed their trust in him and the Alexander Funeral Home.

Martha Haliburton
Secretary, Data Processor
Martha is a native of Nashville, TN, the daughter of the late William “Bee” and Lena Fay Holland Cherry. She moved to Macon County, TN with her family in 1970. She has a son, Dewayne Cook of Lafayette, a daughter, Shelley Goad of Red Boiling Springs and five grandsons. On November 11, 1988, she was married to Larry "Pee Wee" Halliburton and they live in the Rose Hill Community in Red Boiling Springs. Martha and her husband owned and operated "Martha's Deli and Market" in Red Boiling Springs for four years. She was a CNA for three years and worked in the business office of The Palace Care & Rehab for six year in Accounts Payable and Patient Trust Funds. Martha enjoys cooking, gardening, and camping. She is a member of the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Martha has sung for several years in Gospel Quartets, currently she sings with the "Servants Quartets. She has been with the Alexander Funeral Home since 2007. Martha enters data for vital records, writes obituaries, newspaper articles and publishes DVD's for the services. Martha hopes in some small way she can be of assistance to the families we serve, during their time of need.

Peggy Claiborne
Secretary of Accounting/Insurance/Macon Co. Memorial Gardens
Peggy is a native of Macon County. She was a top ten graduate of Macon County High School in 1965 and of SAVTS Business Systems in 1967. She has worked in secretarial/bookkeeping/retail management in the Lafayette area for several years and is a Notary Public. Peggy is married to Jerry Claiborne, a licensed funeral director, who is employed with Sanderson Funeral Homes in Smith, Co. Peggy and Jerry have 2 daughters, Christy and Holly. Peggy joined the Alexander Funeral Home in January of 2005 working in the office as Secretary forAccounting/Insurance/Macon County Memorial Gardens along with many other hats that she wears in the office of the funeral home. She is a member of the Meadorville Missionary Baptist Church, Lafayette Chapter Order of the Eastern Star #379, and the National Association of Professional Women. She is also a published poet.

Jim Daniels
Maintenance/ Grounds Keeper
Jim has worked for Alexander Funeral Home and Macon County Memorial Gardens in maintenance and groundskeeping for over 15 years. He takes great pride in keeping the appearance of Alexander Funeral Home and The Macon Memorial Gardens looking great. Jim helps in the funeral home or where ever needed when weather does not permit him to be outside. He is an avid Sportsman, enjoying deer hunting and turkey hunting in his spare time. He also likes to take his horses on trail rides. Jim is a joy to work with.

Bobby Thomas
Funeral Assistant
Bobby is a native of the Willette Community in Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee. After graduating from Red Boiling Springs High School, he and a friend started a mechanic garage. He later went into the Lumber Business with his dad, Bully Thomas. They had a lumber mill in the Willette Community where Bobby worked for thirty-eight years. Bobby has been married to his wife, Brenda Thomas for forty-six years. They moved to the Lafayette area in 2001. They have two children, a son and a daughter, and three step-grandchildren. Bobby came to work in 2008 for the Alexander Funeral Home. We have learned that he is capable of doing almost anything. He assist in our daily upkeep of the funeral home. He also often wears a suit and helps with funeral services.
Bobby is a Licensed Real Estate Agent and has served this area for the last twelve years, Brenda also is a Real Estate Agent .
Bobby has antique cars and loves to show them. He and Brenda spend a lot of time traveling, whether to car shows or just to relax. We appreciate having him on our staff.

Leland and Pat Hargis
Evening Visitation Attendants
Leland and Pat came to work for Alexander Funeral Home in 2008.
Leland is a native of the Union Camp Community in Macon County. After graduating from Macon County High School, he went to work at TRW in Lebanon, Tennessee. Retiring in 2000 as a skilled Trades Coordinator with 36 years of service. He is a member of Lafayette Masonic Lodge # 543 F&AM, a Scottish Rites 32nd Degree Mason, and a Shriner.
Pat is a native of Macon County, but was raised in the Amos Commuity of Allen County, Kentucky where she graduated from Allen County High School in Scottsville. She retired from Tri-Coutny Electric Membership Corporation in 2006, with thirty-three years in the Accounting Department.
Leland and Pat are the proud parents of one daughter and the grandparents of twin grandsons. They especially enjoy going to Alabama to see their grandsons.
Lealand and Pat have been married 45 years. They enjoy going to Flea Markets and Myrlte Beach, South Carolina.
They are members of Lafayette Missionary Baptist Church.
